Adrian Peters

Adrian Peters is the Managing Director and Global Chief Technology Risk Officer (CTRO) at BNY Mellon and is responsible for comprehensive oversight of information risk for the company. He chairs the Technology and Information Risk Committee that is responsible for driving quality technology risk and policy related decisions across the organization.

Mr Peters has over 20 plus years of information risk experience. Previously, he was the CISO at Bridgewater Associates. During his 7 year tenure with Bridgewater Associates, he was responsible for establishing the security risk vision, and executing the program transformation from the ground up. Reporting to the CEO he ensured that intellectual property and trades were protected and secured at all times. Prior to Bridgewater he was a Principle and head for Neohapsis (now Cisco’s Security Consulting Services), where he developed global information risk management and security programs for a wide range of Fortune 100 and government organizations. His experience includes information security organization transformation, cloud strategy development and execution, security technology innovation, and security community advancement.

Mr. Peters serves as one of the founding Board Members for the Information Security Alliance, and is a frequent speaker and contributor to the Information Risk and Cyber community. He has held a variety of technical cyber security certifications over the course of his career, received his MBA in Finance and Accounting from DePaul University, and holds an undergraduate degree in Information Systems.
